This limited editioned server is cut from Beech, then hand-shaped and finished with a hand-painted geometric patterns wrapping around the cabinet. This particular pattern represents a literary text in Sesotho, written in the Pan-Southern African writing system called
Isibheqe Sohlamvu, or Ditema tsa Dinoko.
The shape and graphic nature of the Kassena server is inspired by the hand-painted homes of the Kassena people from northern Ghana.
